How to Obtain a Tribal ID
The Enrollment Office has created an electronic Tribal ID generation process as an alternative to in-person photo sessions. The process involves completing the Tribal ID request form to provide contact information, and then submitting payment for the Tribal ID. Follow the steps below to request your Tribal ID.
Periodic in-person sessions will still be held for those individuals that are not comfortable with using the electronic process.
Step 1
Complete the Tribal ID request form located here. The form also includes instructions on the requirements for the photo and signature files, and the email address to use for the submission.
Citizens must be current on their taxes before the IDs are issued. The Enrollment Office will contact the requesters that are not current.
Step 2
Follow the steps below based on your method of payment.
Check
If you would like to pay by check, list “Chickahominy Indian Tribe” as the payee, “Tribal ID ####” in the Memo field, and mail it to Chickahominy Indian Tribe, Attn: Brittany Johnson, 8200 Lott Cary Road, Providence Forge, VA 23140.
The fee for in-person pick up is $5.00 and the fee for mailing is $6.00.
Online
You now have the option to pay using our online store. Use this link to be redirected to our online store. You will have the option to choose your whether you would like to pick up your ID in-person or have it mailed. Please note: the fees for utilizing the online platform are $1 more, which covers all processing fees.
Next Steps
Turnaround times may vary widely depending on the position of your request in the queue. You will be notified via email when your Tribal ID is available for pick up. IDs will be available for pickup on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 9AM and 5 PM.
